Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how J&B Creations LLC (“J&B Creations,” “we,” “us”) handles information in connection with the Unread: Phone Detective mobile game and the website at playunread.app (together, the “Service”). Unread is a single-player game that doesn't require an account, and every case in it is fictional.

The short version

• You don't create an account or give us your name to play.
• The free game shows ads, which use a device advertising identifier; purchases are handled by the App Store and Google Play.
• We don't sell your personal information.

Information we handle

Game progress (on your device)

Your case progress — gates solved, evidence you've tagged, verdicts, and timers — is stored on your device. It isn't tied to your identity.

Advertising

The free version of Unread shows ads, including rewarded ads you can watch to restore attempts. We use Google AdMob (and its mediation partners) to serve them. Ad providers may process a mobile advertising identifier (Apple's IDFA / Google's Advertising ID), approximate device and app information, and interaction data to deliver and measure ads. On iOS, personalized ads require your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; you can decline. You can reset or limit ad tracking in your device settings, and Unread Pro removes ads entirely.

Purchases and subscriptions

Unread Pro is sold as a subscription through the App Store and Google Play — those platforms process your payment, and we never receive your card details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and confirm entitlements, which involves an app-generated identifier and your purchase/subscription status, used to unlock Pro and restore purchases.

Game content delivery

Case files and images are delivered from our infrastructure on Cloudflare (Workers, KV, and R2 storage). Serving these requests involves standard technical data such as IP address and request metadata, used to deliver content and protect the Service from abuse.

Diagnostics

We may process limited crash and performance data to keep the game stable. If we use an analytics or crash-reporting provider, it processes app-usage and device information on our behalf and not to identify you personally.

Service providers we share with

• Apple App Store / Google Play — process your purchases.
• RevenueCat — manages subscription and entitlement status.
• Google AdMob and mediation partners — serve and measure ads in the free version.
• Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery (Workers/KV/R2), and abuse protection.

We do not sell your personal information.

Children

Unread is rated Teen (13+) and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will address it.

Your choices

You can limit ad personalization or reset your advertising identifier in your device settings, decline the iOS tracking prompt, or remove ads by subscribing to Unread Pro. You may contact us with any privacy request at hello@playunread.app, and we'll respond as required by applicable law.

International users

We are based in the United States and process information there and with the providers listed above. By using the Service, you understand your information may be processed in the United States and other countries.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the effective date above.
